New cigarette brands in Bulgaria

Philip Morris is expanding its brand portfolio on Bulgarian tobacco market. After a year of re-appearance on Bulgarian market, Philip Morris takes control on 6, 8% of the Bulgarian cigarettes market, the company said on Thursday.

Strategy of PM’ development on Bulgarian territory seems to be very brightly for American enterprise. "Bulgaria is a small country, but with a huge potential for growth," managing director Richard Morgan said.

Cigarette magnate plans to launch its premium Bond Street brand in Bulgaria. This product is focused on low end of the market. Price of Bond Street fixed for Bulgarian smokers is BGN 2.

One of the greatest competitors of Philip Morris is the state tobacco propriety Bulgartabac, which is in the BGN 2-3 price range.

As Philip Morris representative declared, the company is always looking for enlargement and development of its business, and if Bulgartabac will be presented for sale, they are ready to buy it. It will offer a good perspective of enlarging market of realizations of their tobacco products.

Some of the most successful Philip Morris’ cigarettes presented on Bulgarian territory are: Marlboro Red and Gold, Parliament, L&M and Assos. These brands are high required by local smokers and encourage PM to enrich its Bulgarian portfolio. So, soon it will be launched new Bond Street and Marlboro Silver. Officially, these cigarettes will be on sale starting with the next week.
